Retina Display for the New Samsung iPad

The Korean company Samsung, despite all the disputes and disagreements with Apple, will become the new provider of high quality displays for the new generation of tablets, the iPad and the iPad Mini, according to sources in the company.



Samsung prepares for Apple 9.7 7.9-inch touch screens working in Retina-resolution 2048х1536 pixels.Initially, the new displays will be supplied for the new iPad Mini, which should appear in the third quarter of this year. Then, in the fourth quarter, and the new iPad will appear with a larger screen.


As we have informed, in the past, Apple has already relied on the display of Samsung, in particular, for third generation iPad. These were the first iPad tablets with Retina displays. At the same time, Apple also gets Retina display with Sharp and LG Display.


For current iPad Mini displays normal permissions also supplies and AU Optronics of Taiwan, but it is unclear whether it is likely before the end of the summer to offer Apple Retina-resolution Panel, which is twice as high as normal.


Also there is no clarity as to when exactly the new iPad Mini. Most analysts believed that it will not be at the beginning of autumn, and closer to its end, possibly even early in the fourth quarter.
