Nokia has finally stops the supply of phones based on its once-popular Symbian operating system this summer and finally clears the way for devices based on Windows Phone.

The Finnish manufacturer is going to sell out before the end of the year have already been released Symbian-devices and not to let the newer ones, because the OS can not compete with iOS or Android.



Nokia has not denied that the termination of sales caused by the fall in demand for these devices, despite the rapid growth of the smartphone market as a whole. Also, the Finnish company said that in the foreseeable future, she intends to focus on the solutions of Microsoft.

In many industrialized market share of Symbian still is listed in the range of 5-7%, but it is less than the share of smart phones based on Windows Phone produce the same Nokia. An estimated Kantar Worldpanel, Symbian share in the European market by the results of April was about 1.8%. In the first quarter of this year, Nokia sold only 500 thousand new devices based on Symbian.

The latter device is Nokia's Symbian - a smartphone 808 Pureview, released in 2012.
